An interesting thing happened when I was playing Scrabble on my phone yesterday (don't you LOVE stories that start that way?). Anyway, I was playing in something called Friendly mode, because I think it's bad kharma for one to have an antagonistic game with one's phone. Friendly mode means if you put in letters that do not spell a word, you get to replay your turn. If it is a word, it shows you the definition after accepting your turn.

Late in the game, I was trying out the word tup. It turns out tup is a word, meaning "to copulate with a ewe." This amused me, and after showing it to a few people, one of them asked me "Why is there a word for that?"

I looked the definition up today online and now it makes more sense to me, as a word that rams to use.

I had an existential moment today when I had spelled 'spell-check' as 'spellcheck' and spell-check recommended the spelling it 'spell-check.'
